PRE-WEDDING OUTDOOR SESSION
Let's agree that the pre-wedding session is a rarity. As a wedding photographer, I had the opportunity to do such an outdoor session for the first time. Young couples usually decide to take their wedding photos outdoors after their wedding day.
WHY THE OUTDOOR PHOTOSHOOT IS USUALLY AFTER WEDDING?
Why? First of all - the costumes. A wedding dress is being selected, adjusted and tried-on for many weeks before the big day, and it should get to that day unscathed. It is clear that on the outdoor photoshoot the risk of the damage is quite high. Second reason - a hectic schedule. The period of preparation for the wedding, delivering invitations, arranging formalities, booking all the elements of the wedding reception is filled to the brim with all kinds of tasks. In their free time, the brides-to-be may not have the strength and willingness to make additional commitments. Often, an outdoor session for the newlyweds is a way of saying goodbye to the pre-wedding adventure. It is the last time in wedding costumes as just-married couple. The photoshot can also be the perfect excuse for the weekend trip or a city break.
However, wedding photography during the pandemic has changed as well. Trends and couples' approach to many issues are being challenged. Everyone is trying to take on a new perspective and be more flexible. Personally, I also see a lot of advantages of new solutions - such as pre-wedding sessions. It is not very often for the wedding and reception to take place on two different days. But when it happens, why not to squeeze in additional photoshoot in the period of the expectation for the wedding party.
TO CHOOSE THE PLACE CLOSE TO YOUR HEART
You can already be familiar with Michalina and Norbert from previous entries on my blog.. For the outdoor photoshoot, they invited me to their family sides in Podlasie. I like when the bride and groom show me interesting places that I would probably never go to if not for them. When the young couple come up with a location suggestion, those place are usually close to their hearts, places related to beautiful memories and only being there already put us in a great mood. And so we spent the afternoon in the area of Stare Litewniki in eastern Poland, where they both grew up.
GET IT EASY IN FRONT OF CAMERA
Michalina and Norbert, after the engagement session, felt very comfortable in front of my camera. Michalina had a specific plan for these photos and she knew exactly what effect she wanted to achieve. I was able to focus on catching relationships between them and on frames that would meet her expectations.
This couple did not worry about the costumes. (Michalina's solution was the additional second-hand wedding dress, bought specifically for the wedding photoshoot). They were not worried about any wedding preparations that day. They were focused on each other and relaxed. On this hot afternoon they even jumped for a quick swim in the Bug river ;) Courage is the middle name of these positive couple. You must evaluate the effects yourself.
